This unique development was built by Union Investment Real Estate AG on a site covering some 17,000 square metres, where the Palasthotel used to be located. The four-building complex contains a five-star hotel, offices, a residential building plus retail units and restaurants/cafés. The total floor space amounts to approx. 64,300 square metres and there are 652 parking spaces. Walkways between the buildings allow access across the development from all directions. The DomAquarée CityQuartier is open since 11/12 May 2004.
The AquaDom aquarium, which extends up as far as the fifth floor, is the biggest of its type in the world. The fish and the marine landscape can be viewed from a two-storey lift, which ascends through the centre of the aquarium. The Sealife Centre’s 30 tanks with its display of European freshwater fish also offer an exciting and educational experience.
