Madrid, Spain Pórtico is an eight-story, Class A office building in Madrid.The building that is now the headquarters of Grupo Mayana, the Spanish tourism and transportation conglomerate, is at a prominent location on the M-40 ring road at the entrance to the Campo de las Naciones business park. The typical floor is 2,900 square meters (31,215 square feet) and offers maximum flexibility for tenants. Designed by world-renowned architects SOM of London and Rafael de La-Hoz of Madrid, the project wasdeveloped in partnership with the Madrid-based developer Monthisa. Construction started in September 2003 and the building was completed in April 2005.
The exceptional Edificio Portico is a significant addition to Madrid's most dynamic and modern business area—the Campo de las Naciones, a cosmopolitan area of the capital that has seen extraordinary growth since the 1980s. The new building is conceived as a modern framed pavilion with a simple prismatic shape and a high quality exterior envelope. The design provides efficient and flexible office space that is sustainable and environmentally-friendly.
