Real estate acquisition
We have clear objectives for our investments in Europe, the Americas and Asia:
Stable long-term yields and safe growth – even outside the traditional investment regions. Calculated over the last eight years, our purchases have averaged EUR 2.2 billion a year. Our real estate fund portfolio now covers 24 countries and markets around the world, with strong exposure to the economically robust and fast-growing metropolitan areas of Northern Europe and the USA, in which we invested EUR 19 billion between 2008 and 2016.
For portfolio diversification, we intend to add more investments in emerging markets with attractive profiles and perspectives.
These include Turkey and Malaysia, which are already represented in our global investment fund. In addition, we are monitoring Brazil, India and Hong Kong as possible markets to enter in the medium term, assuming the right investment opportunities can be found.
