An integral part of our investment strategy
Whether new build, modification or existing use redevelopment, development projects play a key role in our investment and asset management activity. Crucially, they enable us to have a strong influence on how buildings are designed.
With a 30-strong team consisting of architects, civil engineers and project managers, our real estate Project management unit supports projects worldwide across all segments – office, hotel and retail – and handles quality assurance in order to protect the ability of our assets to generate long-term income.
A total of 16 development projects are currently under construction, including an office complex with retail space in Brisbane, Australia. Using forward funding and forward purchase structures to acquire development projects is an integral part of our Investment strategy.

Am Seestern is a vibrant location in the Lörick district on the left bank of the Rhine. More than 10,000 people work in the area and numerous companies have their head office or European headquarters in this strategic location. Seestern was the first building in Germany to be designed purely for open-plan office use and is thus of pioneering importance in office building architecture. More than 50 years after its completion, refurbishment of SEESTERN 3 has now been placed in the hands of its creators. Internationally renowned Düsseldorf architects RKW Rhode Kellermann Wawrowsky have been tasked with updating the revolutionary building they originally designed.
