The building
The Europahaus was constructed by Otto Paul Burghardt in 1928/29 and features a recessed base and a characteristic natural stone facade made from shell limestone. The office building underwent extensive modernisation work in 2013 and 2014 in keeping with its listed status and was converted into a modern, communicative ensemble. The largest public underground car park in Leipzig city centre with some 1,260 spaces, the Gewandhaus concert hall, the Leipzig Opera and the university campus are all opposite the property.
Location & surroundings
The Europahaus in Leipzig is located at Augustusplatz, one of the largest city squares in Germany. There are shops and a variety of restaurants in the immediate vicinity and the property offers excellent public transport links. The main train station, which is served by ICE trains, can be reached on foot in just five minutes.
